Job Duties and Responsibilities (Daily):
The Receiving Manager is a hands-on manager responsible for general supervision of inventory control, receiving, and shipping. Receiving Manager at NetCost Market supervises department employees to meet the specific goals established in their area that corresponds to the overall company objectives. These goals are achieved by prioritizing processes, quality, accuracy, and safety metrics.
- Execute routine labor tasks on a regular schedule, including pulling orders for delivery, unloading trucks, stocking inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the store warehouse.
- Fulfill special requests, such as manual merchandise handling or utilizing carts and forklifts for transport.
- Expedite the receipt of all incoming merchandise with precision and efficiency.
- Load trucks for delivery and handle returns.
- Conduct thorough quality control checks on all merchandise and ensure accuracy in all aspects.
- Adhere to safety policies and practices to prevent injury to oneself and colleagues.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to address billing inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for store-to-store transfers and vendor returns.
- Ensure the Receiving Department remains clean and organized.
- Manage the shipment, receipt, and processing of all returned merchandise.
- Collaborate closely with Department Managers to resolve any in-house receiving issues.
- Perform additional tasks as required and assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in mechanical skills.
- Experience with data entry for purchase orders, inventory logs, safety reports, and other records.
- Familiarity with inventory software, tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make prompt decisions in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Capability to stand, walk for extended periods, bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Forklift certificate or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment.
- Preferred: 1+ year of experience operating a forklift.
