Grocery Department Associate
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Grocery associate is responsible to make sure the grocery section of the store is well-stocked for our customers. They assist in receiving, storing, and stocking of products while ensuring proper product rotation and quality. They create and build product displays, ensure proper fronting of products, and handle product damages and credits according to company policy. Grocery associates must be familiar with store products and their locations in order to assist customers in locating items.

Daily Functions:
• Observe and retain all of NetCost Market’s policies and procedures
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe Company dress code
• Repetitive actions while pricing with marking gun, opening cases using safety cutter and stocking product on shelves and displays
• Maintain knowledge of products and operations of grocery department
• Contribute to the product flow process in the store by receiving daily deliveries and distributing to sales floor as directed
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
• Inform supervisor regarding customer requests and concerns
• Follow the instructions of managerial staff
• Observe shift operating hours at all times as scheduled or assigned by Store Manager
• Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise. Check and verify grocery receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered
• Check products for quality, count, and condition
• Take stock to storage or shelf areas
• Open cartons and price items accurately and legibly, keep store management informed of pricing problem areas or discrepancies
• Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control
• Handle damaged and spoiled products according to Company Policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods
• Assist customers in retrieving items from inaccessible areas or in obtaining products that are either located in the back room or that they may have difficulty in handling
• Comply fully with all Safety Policies and Procedures
• Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and highly friendly, courteous service or assistance

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
• 18 years or older
• Physical Demands, including standing, walking, carrying, lifting, climbing, kneeling, ability to live up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write and do simple math problems
• Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problems
• Able to work well with others as a team member
• A passion for serving people
