Great St. Patrick’s Days Recipes From Our Weekly Specials

St. Patrick’s Day is one of the biggest celebrations in the northeast US, and this year will certainly be no exception. It’s a time when the streets go green and everyone has a jolly old time! With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, we couldn’t do a selection of Irish recipes to get in the swing of things. To make things easier, we’ve used ingredients from our NetCost Market Weekly Specials so you can make these delicious dishes for less.

Irish liver and onions

This Irish classic is warming and hearty and is perfect for sharing with friends before a long day of St. Patrick’s Day fun. Right now, the veal liver is part of our weekly specials, so you can make the most of this exciting deal with this tasty winter warmer.

Ingredients: 1 tbsp. olive oil, 1 clove garlic – minced, 4 large sweet onions – thinly sliced, 1 ½ tbsp. green bell pepper – finely chopped, 1 ½ tbsp. red bell pepper – finely chopped, ½ cup sliced mushrooms, salt, pepper, ¼ cup butter, 1 lb. veal liver, ¼ cup all-purpose flour, 2 cups water, 2 tsp. beef bouillon granules, 1 tbsp. red wine (optional).


  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Stir in the garlic, onion, green and red bell pepper, and mushrooms. Cook for about 10 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
  • Season well with salt and pepper, and then push the onion mixture to the side of the skillet.
  • Place the butter in the middle of the skillet and add the veal liver one piece at a time. Cover the skillet and cook until lightly browned, making sure you flip the liver pieces to ensure they’re well-browned.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, water, beef bouillon and then pour the mixture into the skillet. Cook until a thick gravy forms, and then add the red wine. Cook for 2 minutes, season to taste, and then serve hot with mashed or boiled potatoes.

Slow cooker corned beef and cabbage

This is a favorite when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, and that is no surprise as it’s absolutely delicious! Right now, corned beef brisket, carrots, green cabbage, and Green Giant Idaho potatoes are all part of our Happy St. Patrick’s Day Weekly Specials offer!


Ingredients: 4 large carrots – peeled and cut into small sticks, 5 Green Giant Idaho potatoes – diced, 1 onion – cut into bite-sized pieces, 4 cups water, 4 lbs. corned beef brisket including spice packet, 6 ounces beer, ½ head cabbage – roughly chopped.


  • Place the carrots, potatoes, and onions into the slow cooker and then pour in the water. Place the brisket on top of the vegetables and water. Pour beer over the top of the brisket and then sprinkle the spice packet over the top.
  • Cover and set on high heat. Cook for 8 hours, lift the lid, stir, and then cook for another hour.
  • Serve hot!

Shamrock chia seed pots

St. Patrick’s Day can be a bit heavy on the body, so you may want to try this light, tasty, and most importantly, GREEN(!) breakfast dish or dessert. The key ingredients, including Brad’s organic chia seeds, Blue Diamond vanilla almond milk, bananas, and Reddi Wip cream are all part of our Weekly Specials.


Ingredients: 1 cup Blue Diamond vanilla almond milk, 1 banana – peeled, 1 cup baby spinach, ¼ tsp. pure mint extract, ½ tsp. vanilla, ¼ cup Brad’s organic chia seeds, Reddi Wip cream.


  • Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend well for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Pour into mason jars and store in the fridge overnight. The puddings should set.
  • Before serving, top with Reddi Wip cream and a sprig of mint.
