Oscar Night Snacks

The Oscars is not just a fun filled night for all the celebs, it’s the perfect excuse for a get together with friends! We love nothing more than having our favorite people around and indulging in a few tasty nibbles and drinks, whilst playfully debating who will win a much coveted Oscar statuette. If you’re thinking of hosting an Oscar party this year, keep on reading to get some food and drink inspiration that Leo Dicaprio himself would pop round for!


Replace champagne with the Hugo…

Hugo cocktail

A celebration requires a little bit of sparkling wine, but don’t be reaching for the plain old champagne or a bellini! Try out the refreshing Hugo cocktail.


The Hugo

You Will Need:


3 Parts Dry Italian Prosecco

1 Part Elderflower Syrup

2 Wedges of Lime

Soda Water To Top

Fresh Mint

Ice Cubes


  1. Into a large wine glass place the wedges of lime and the mint. Using a pestle, gently press the lime and mint to release the juices and flavor, then add ice and muddle together.
  2. Stir in the elderflower syrup and Prosecco, then top with soda water to finish.
  3. Garnish with a sprig of mint and enjoy!


Ditch boring chips and dips for something a little fancier…

Chips are the go-to snack for many occasions, but this time why not add a little extra to your party by swapping out the usual flavors of dips & chips for more grown up tastes. The following dip also works wonderfully together with a Fleur de Sal Breadstick, apple slices or traditional carrot batons.


Blue Cheese & Walnut Dip

You Will Need:


4 oz High-Quality Blue Cheese

8 oz Cream Cheese, softened

½ Cup Unsalted Butter softened

1 ½ Cups Walnuts

⅓ Cup Tawny Port


  1. Into a food processor place blue cheese, cream cheese, butter, port and 1 cup of walnuts then blend together to a smooth, well-combined mixture,
  2. Transfer into a bowl and top with the other ½ cup of walnuts, roughly chopped.


Root Vegetable Chips

Serves as many as you wish!


Sweet Potato




  1. Preheat oven to 375F.
  2. Peel your root vegetables and using a mandolin slice into thin pieces.
  3. Lay your vegetable chips on some aluminum foil on a baking sheet and sprinkle with a little salt and light layer of olive oil.
  4. Bake for around 20-30 minutes, they will crisp up so keep an eye on them!


Give popcorn an Oscar style makeover…

Popcorn and a movie is the ultimate couple, however, this year don’t just serve your popcorn straight up from the packet. Give it a fancy makeover with the help of some chocolate.


Popcorn Brownie Bites

You Will Need:


8-inch square baking tray

½ Cup Unsalted Butter

1 1/4 Cups Sugar

¾ Cup  Cocoa Powder

⅓ Cup All-Purpose Flour

1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

½ Tsp Salt

2 Eggs

Ready made Salted Caramel Popcorn!


  1. Preheat oven to 325F and grease and line your baking tray.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan and leave to one side to cool a little.
  3. Mix together cocoa, sugar, and salt in a bowl then slowly pour in the butter and whisk together.
  4. Whisk in the eggs one at a time and follow with the vanilla extract.
  5. Stir in the flour until just combined, then pour the batter into your prepared tray.
  6. Take a generous handful of your ready made (or you can make your own!) salted caramel popcorn and gently press into the brownie mix. Don’t worry about fully submerging it all.
  7. Bake for 27 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean! Everyone knows most brownies are the best.
  8. Leave to cool in the pan, cut into bite-sized pieces and serve!
